Papyrus Code

from Persona by Chris Cachia

/

about

The opening track, “Abundant Bank,” depicts the outlaw and out-of-place loner who will do whatever is necessary to provide for himself and his family. To evade capture, the wanted is now on the run, placed in the “Prowler Position.” Still, it is not the law that leads to repentance, but the self’s own “Enduring Witness.” Locked in “Raw Shank,” wits are sharpened and, in “Mighty Bomb Jack,” the self-imposed exile is breached. Through introspection, a new “Papyrus Code” emerges, the self is sanctified, and the ensuing “Pandemical Madness” solidifies an awareness: the existence of an individual and collective spark. Recognizing the divinity of self, authenticity is emboldened, and the “Highness Bow.” If we are a continuum of lives performed, then Persona is a story of performance from the highway to the throne.

lyrics

Papyrus Code
Philosophical flourish an earthly bliss is
Pursue true proven for a life like this it’s
I can’t miss miss even if I should I would
Strive beyond the grave but I want theirs real good
How could this be otherworldly yearnin’
Why a soul stay verily vital when world’s burnin’ and
Turn tight vice joyous songs to hymns we
Anointed appointed when soarin’ the light dims see
Like the earth spins and I’m feel it too
You can keep so let’s seek secret knowledge through this
A clue you knew that we are all imperfect
It must be the dust to dust we interpreted
How these words get outer shell of a pearl
Where the happiness lay now I’m tellin’ the world
In my girls in my wife in my life above this
Aware discoverin’ and wonderin’ what wonder is
Why I’m on the road this
The highest try this papyrus code it goes
Memories leave an afterglow
Echo across the cavern slow
Why I’m on the road this
The highest try this papyrus code it goes
Terrified of my own tongue
It’s a loaded little gun
Beauty of the spark in your eye
And the glow across your face
I try everything for you to see
Me the same way
Terrified terrified of my own tongue
Loaded it’s a loaded little gun
People recklessly aim and hideaway and hate
But I don’t wanna taint my own name
When I was young I didn’t understand their power
Now they ricochet off of you to the others
All the spitting bullets that you see
Are how you remember me so I shoot carefully
Why I’m on the road this
The highest try this papyrus code it goes
Memories leave an afterglow
Echo across the cavern slow
Why I’m on the road this
The highest try this papyrus code it goes
Terrified of my own tongue
It’s a loaded little gun
¬Intense inhale innermost invest in
Outlook outwork outstretchin’
OK complete but can keep that cherish
OK feel the rain before the same perish
Dream or nightmarish effectively one
Both unknowable and knowable the radiated sun
The mind soul sung she sang and enthrall
To create emanated debated the see saw
We call she all now we standin’ in awe
The ineffable and out incomin’ outlaw like
Terrified of my own tongue
It’s a loaded little gun
Called to heaven no days months or years
They knew what would come next tears
Scene like a set-up she said mind your business
Been keep tryin’ I’m dyin’ for your giveness
Why I’m on the road this
The highest try this papyrus code it goes
Memories leave an afterglow
Echo across the cavern slow
Why I’m on the road this
The highest try this papyrus code it goes
Terrified of my own tongue
It’s a loaded little gun
